Sunday, 10 June 1979 - Rode from Madelia, Minnesota into South Dakota a long day of highway miles with little sightseeing until reaching Badlands National Park for dramatic rock formations. Took photos at overlooks among the stark pinnacles and spires, then continued to Mount Rushmore to see the iconic presidential faces carved in granite before camping near Spearfish for our first night under the stars.
