From New Orleans we headed east on Interstate 10 crossing the Mississippi into Mississippi.

We crossed Alabama into Florida. We saved the picture into Alabama for our turn north at Crestview, FL.

The trusty steeds all washed and ready for the next adventure in the BOQ parking lot in Columbus, GA. We had few maintenance issues during the trip.

One of John's pipes broke at a point where it connected to the engine (no trauma of any kind, the weld just failed). We found a Yamaha dealer who had no replacement parts in stock, but he let us take a pipe off a new bike, so we could be on our way. Maybe we had not started to look too grungy yet, told a good story, and appeared to deserve some sympathy.

We bought replacement tires at some point, not sure if we both needed them or just one of us, and replaced them ourselves. We replaced Cal's chain somewhere along the way. Maybe we did that when we replaced the tire(s). We just pulled into a parking lot somewhere and did the work. Most motorcycle shops were good about letting bikers work in a corner of their lot, since we did not disturb regular business.
