While we were here LeRoy showed us how he uses an antique billows camera with a new lens and a medium format back. When you look through the view finder you see the image upside down and reversed - how he creates the beautiful images he does is beyond me - but his photographs are beautiful.
This is the Castle Butte formation.
The buttes are made of four rock layers. The lowest layer is Organ Rock Shale, the middle is de Chelly Sandstone, and the top layer is the Moenkopi Formation capped by Shinarump Conglomerate.
