Thursday, 16 April 2015 - Hiked from camp to 50-Foot Falls and Navajo Falls several times capturing narrow cascades and travertine pools, continued downriver past dense green foliage and towering canyon walls toward the Colorado River, enjoyed dramatic water and rock contrasts, and photographed small waterfalls and lush scenes along the trail throughout the day.
The first fall below the Havasupi Indian town of Supai is 50-Foot Falls. We hiked back up to these falls
from the campground a few times.
50-Foot Falls has several water flows over the cliffs which have very narrow water flows.

photograph - and it was pretty tricky footing in the cold water.
Navajo Falls is right below 50-Foot Falls and more dramatic - and noisier.

All along the trails were rock walls with cactus growing right out of the rock. It is amazing as there is
typically no ledge - just coming out of the rock.
After lunch we hiked down river past Mooney Falls and toward the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. The
foliage is very dense at times along the river.

Coming back from down river we were treated to a long view of Mooney Falls in the distance.

From this view you can see the travertine shelf going across the canyon from wall to wall.
A tree on the bank which had its root exposed by floods - the tree persevered and grew into the lower
level of the river. The root are now dried out forming a strange look to the tree.
