Thursday, 4 October 2018 - Woke early and drove deep into the Atacama Desert to see the El Tatio geysers at sunrise, climbed to 14,500 ft above sea level to watch steam rise from the geothermal field, enjoyed a tailgate breakfast with views of the steaming hot springs and high Andes, encountered local wildlife like vicuñas and puna teals, returned to Awasi for a late lunch, participated in a hands-on cooking class with Chef Juan Pablo Mardones, and ended the day with a BBQ dinner and stellar stargazing under the clear desert sky.
