Tuesday, 2 October 2018 - Traveled from Phoenix to Atlanta and then onward to Santiago, Chile, followed by a flight to Calama in the north. Met our guides and drove two hours to San Pedro de Atacama, arriving after 32 hours of travel. Checked into the Awasi Atacama hotel, explored the oasis-like grounds, and enjoyed our first of many excellent meals in the desert town.
