North to South in Chile

Friday, 12 October 2018 - Up early and packed after breakfast; enjoyed a final morning in Patagonia with views of the jagged peaks of Torres del Paine from our cabin, then loaded up, and headed back toward Santiago a long travel day through dramatic mountain scenery, spotting guanacos along the way.

We were up at 6:30AM dressed and packed, so our luggage could be picked up while we were at breakfast. A final breakfast of the cheesy scrambled eggs served in a casserole dish.

As we neared Puerto Natales, we could see the jagged mountain rock and snow-capped ranges of Moore Mountain. Another very long travel day as we head back to Santiago for the weekend before departing Monday evening.

On this day the sun finally cooperated. This is the view from our hotel room (cabin).

In several pictures prior to this these giant granite towers were photographed - here you can see Torre Sur on the left then Torre Central and on the right Torre Norte.

Our cabin, villa, room is visible on the lower right, and you can see we had a great view.

Finally, a herd of guanacos crosses the Torres Del Paine vista as we are on the road leaving the hotel for Santiago.
