Yellowstone and Grand Tetons National Parks

Wednesday, 2 October 2019 - An early, snowy morning at Old Faithful gave way to unexpected road closures, turning a short drive into a long journey out of Yellowstone and into Grand Teton National Park, with scenic views across Idaho, Montana, and Teton Pass, plus sightings of pronghorn antelope and elk.

Angie and Cal rose very early to catch sunrise at Old Faithful. Unfortunately, it was a very cloudy morning, so sunrise would not be the best.

The snow from the night before was 2-3 inches and was still snowing as we ate breakfast. Once we checked out the desk said that all the roads into/out of Yellowstone Park were closed except for one - the West Entrance into Idaho - we needed to go south into Grand Tetons National Park. Instead of an hour drive we drove for 4 hours. But were able to see Idaho, Montana and the Teton Pass into Jackson Hole.
