Driving Around Central Mexico

Sunday, 9 April 1995 - Arrived in San Miguelde Allende without hotel reservations, and secured a room at Posada Carmina on the main plaza. Enjoyed relaxing in the hotel courtyard surrounded by flowering bougainvillea, meals in the shaded outdoor dining area once used as a stable, and took in quiet strolls around the charming colonial streets before settling in at the balcony overlooking the plaza and soaking up the atmosphere of this beautiful historic town.

We arrived in San Miguel without accommodations so the first order of business was to hut a hotel room. There are several large hotels on the main plaza and several smaller ones. We opted for the Pasado Carmina - nondescript establishment after one peek inside.

This is the bougainvillea in the hotel plaza - this was where the meals were served outside. Meals inside were served where the horses were once kept - the stone trough is a planter

Obviously we enjoyed the hotel courtyard.

This is the balcony outside our room - that was all of 40 US dollars per night.
