Photographing White Pocket

Saturday, 7 May 2022 - Started the last day in White Pocket with a dark-pre-sunrise hike back into the formations to capture the Lone Tree and colorful sandstone fins in early light, enjoyed dramatic red waves and flowing rock lines at sunrise, then packed up after breakfast and drove back to Marble Canyon to pick up vehicles and head home.

And to the lone tree, again, hoping for some nice sunrise colors. Today did not disappoint.

The tree is very photogenic.

The rock lines running along the floor and the wall.

Several of the rock formations had "fins" or thin leaves of rock. Here the fins flow along a wall into a canyon.

Most the rock was clear of sand, here it is against the rocks.

The last picture as I head down the mountain to camp for breakfast. A great experience and beautiful landscapes.

After breakfast, we packed up and drove back to Marble Canyon to pick up our vehicles. Then head back to Phoenix.
