Tuesday, 23 April 2024 - Two river safaris today on the Amazon spotting lots of wildlife including sloths, iguanas, parrots, and other birds, enjoyed a great lunch on the ship, explored a tributary near a village seeing locals and fish, and finished the day with a beautiful sunset on the river.
River of the sloths - we saw so many that Virginia Ann was a bit tired of the guide yelling out "sloth in the tree."

This Green Iguana took a while for us to find - how the guides spot these in the trees is amazing.
Another Brown-Throated Sloth moving very slowly - but moving!! One of the few we would see actually move.
This little Yellow-Crowned Brush-Tailed Rat must be tired of boats stopping by his home each week.

Back on the ship to enjoy a great lunch - all the meals were excellent.

Entering a tributary of the Amazon we pass a small village on stilts.
On the river near the village, this little boy held up an Armored Catfish. This was the fourth boy we saw with the
same fish - so very popular as a tourist fish.
Mom is not very happy to have a catfish near her.

Another troop of Black-Capped Squirrel Monkeys - only able to catch one in the open.
Very, very far away a Chestnut-Eared Aracari (toucan family) sat at the top of a tree.

Another Brown-Throated Sloth, but this time there is a little baby sloth on its mother's stomach. If you look close
there is a little fur bump hanging on with one paw.
