Much more work on the website to make it better for the mobile platform and search engines. Hope you like it
as much as we do. Enjoy!!!
To celebrate Cal's mom, Liz Brooks, birthday, we went on a
journey to the Grand Canyon.
Cal and Virginia Ann along with Mary Holman and Jay Cross went on the trip with mom.
We traveled to Williams and then took the train to the
Grand Canyon
a new experience and very fun. We stayed at El Tovar at the South Rim, got some
great pictures
while we were there. It was so cool to stay right at the edge of the Grand Canyon.
Then we traveled to Winslow and stayed a night at mom's favorite hotel, La Posada.
Some good pictures from sunset and sunrise during our stay. For sunrise Cal hiked 2 miles to
Yavapai Point.
Before we left Arizona for North Carolina,
Cal was asked to say a few words
to the incoming class for West Point, The class of 2029 will graduate 50 years from Cal's graduation
in 1979 as part of the 50 year affiliation
Cal gave a short talk about West Point.
Another 4th of July set of
unique pictures of fireworks.
Cal has such fun creating these abstract versions of the
colorful explosions.
Little Riley had her
12th birthday
in Highlands. A few pictures of her in our backyard. We stopped on our walk at the pet store and the
Highlands bench,
Riley and Cal are growing very gray.
During the middle of summer Cal went on a photography workshop to
Alaska to photograph Grizzly Bears.
It was a lot of fun and great photo opportunities. Cal even spent a night camping out
on the Alaska tundra surrounded by an electric fence.
Near the middle of September Cal was asked to be a photographer for the Film Festival of Highlands. Photographing
people is not a strong suit for Cal. He is much better at photographing nature, as in the grizzly bears!!
One star, who was great to work with, was
Mary Badham
who played the little girl Scout in 'To Kill a Mockingbird' with Gregory
Peck.
You can follow Cal on Instagram for a stream of pictures - the only thing not posted there are personal
pictures and extensive photo journals of our
adventures.
